About the job

As a Field Interviewer, you will be responsible for conducting interviews and surveys with individuals or groups in various locations, collecting data and information for research or survey projects. Your role will involve traveling to designated areas, engaging with respondents, and administering surveys according to established protocols. Key responsibilities include:

1.Conducting face-to-face interviews with individuals or groups in assigned geographic areas, following specified survey protocols and procedures.

2. Explaining the purpose of the survey or research study to respondents and obtaining informed consent for participation.

3. Administering survey questionnaires or collecting data through interviews, recording responses accurately and legibly.

4. Maintaining confidentiality and privacy of respondent information in accordance with ethical standards and data protection regulations.

5. Ensuring completeness and accuracy of data collected during interviews, resolving discrepancies or missing information as needed.

6. Adhering to a predefined schedule or route for conducting interviews, optimizing travel time and efficiency.

7. Recording and documenting fieldwork activities, including locations visited, number of interviews conducted, and any challenges or issues encountered.

8. Communicating regularly with project supervisors or coordinators to provide updates on progress, report any difficulties, and seek guidance or assistance as needed.

9. Adapting interview techniques and communication styles to effectively engage with diverse populations and overcome language or cultural barriers.

10. Representing the organization professionally and maintaining a positive rapport with respondents and community members throughout the data collection process.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in written and spoken English or the local language(s) spoken in the survey area.

2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

3. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to survey protocols and procedures.

4. Basic numeracy skills and attention to detail in recording data accurately.

5. Flexibility and adaptability to work in different environments and weather conditions.

6. Ability to travel to designated locations within the assigned survey area.

7. Reliable transportation to travel to and from survey locations.

8. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in conducting interviews.
